DIMAPUR — With an aim to relegate leadership duties on the students, Livingstone Foundation International (LFI), Dimapur, conducted its annual investiture ceremony for its students’ council on June 24.
The ceremony began with hoisting of the school flag by Acato Chishi, one of the parents, followed with the ceremonial lighting of torch by the LFI director, Ani Yepthomi, an update from the LFI stated.
In her welcome address, Ani Yepthomi congratulated the new batch of leaders and enumerated the responsibilities that the school expected of them as future leaders of the nation. She called upon them to be exemplary in behavior and to work with utmost sincerity and create a culture of compassion and reverence. She also challenged them to rise above their self-interest so that people around them could experience their integrity.
To the parents and guardians, she asked them to be more supportive towards their children and be receptive of their suggestions, appreciation and approaches towards the school in order to get the best outcome from the children.
The highlight of the investiture ceremony was the oath-taking by the leaders which was administered by Ani Yepthomi, which was followed by pinning of the leader’s badge by respective parents and guardians of the elected leaders.
It stated that Henjoy Ham of Grade-XII (Arts) from Matthew House and Anna Zimo of Grade-XII (Arts) from Luke House have been elected as the school captain for boys and girls respectively.
