DIMAPUR — The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Livingstone Foundation International College (LFIC) organised a seminar on ‘Health implications of sex and gender differences’ on August 23 in its auditorium, which was sponsored by the Bank of Baroda, Dimapur.
An update from the college stated that the chief manager of Bank of Baroda, Ramendra Nath Dubey, attended the programme as the special guest and Dr. Leishiwon Kumrah, Head of Dermatology at CIHSR, was the resource person.
Speaking at the seminar, Dubey mentioned that in this generation just classroom knowledge is not enough and added that knowledge on such topics is of much importance as it might become handy and useful later in life.
Meanwhile, the resource person made a PowerPoint presentation elaborating on the various diseases individuals might suffer due to their biological changes as male and female. She also mentioned that even the environment plays a major role in the physiological development of an individual.
She stated that it is crucial to understand diseases suffered by individuals based on someone’s sex and gender.
The programme was chaired by Vesulu Thingo, IQAC assistant coordinator, while Suipoile, assistant professor, said the invocation and the college’s vice principal, Dr. Tainla Mar, welcomed the guests and students.
The EU members presented a song and the programme concluded with a vote of thanks and closing remarks delivered by the college’s principal, Dr. RK Behera.
