Lendina Longkumer wins science seminar competition

Mokokchung, August 18 (EMN): Lendina Longkumer from Jubilee Memorial School won the Mokokchung district level science seminar 2017 held today at Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School (MGHSS) auditorium in Mokokchung town.
The competition, held on the topic “Swachh Bharat: Role of science & technology promises and challenges,” was participated by 12 schools under Mokokchung where participants presented their approaches and ideas through power point presentations and answered the queries raised by the judges.
Lendina Longkumer, representing Jubilee Memorial School (JMS) was declared winner of the district level science seminar 2017. Yimsena Jamir from Queen Mary Higher Secondary School and Purchila Tzudir from Lady Bird School were declared the first and second runner-ups respectively. The winners were awarded certificates and cash while the participants also received certificates.
The competition was adjudged by Nukshimoa, Assistant Professor Department of Physic, FAC; Imlinungla, Assistant Professor Department of Zoology, FAC; and Sentibenla Aochen, Assistant Professor Department of Botany, FAC.
Officials informed that the winner and the first runner-up will participate at the State level competition scheduled on or before September 15. The winners of the State level will be eligible for the national level science seminar which will be held at Birla Industrial & Technology Museum, Kolkata, on November 9.
During the short programme, T Imlimangyang, PGT (Botany) of Senayangba GHSS tendered the introduction, while Rowainla, Deputy District Education Officer, delivered the vote of thanks. Special numbers were also sung by Sumi students of GHS and Straightway School. The district level science seminar was attended by teachers and students from schools.
