Legislators review Covid-19 situation in Wokha

Dimapur, Aug. 27 (EMN): Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, who is in-charge of Wokha district for Covid-19, along with Advisor to Horticulture and Border Affairs Mhathung Yanthan on Thursday held a review meeting with the district task force to take stock of the situations and activities related to Covid-19.

The recent activities and overall scenario of the district was highlighted by the deputy commissioner Wokha, chief medical officer and frontline officials, an update informed.

The legislators expressed satisfaction and congratulated the district task force for overall management and right measures adopted in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. Few positive cases were reported earlier, however, community spread has been by and large controlled thus far, they said.

Patton expressed gratitude to task force team for their selfless services rendering especially during this time of pandemic and encouraged them to continue their good work. He also thanked the people of Wokha district for their unflinching support and co-operating and further appealed to them to follow the guidelines laid down by the government.

Stating that Covid-19 is here to stay for long, the legislators also urged the citizens to stay positive and learn how to live with it.

The deputy chief minister further expressed concern over the entry restriction in some villages and colonies, the deputy chief minister appealed the citizens to avoid such restrictions but to maintain and follow the government SOP and notifications.
