Legislators' Forum urges GoI and NSCN-IM to expedite talks

Dimapur, June 15 : The Nagaland Legislators' Forum on Naga Political Issue has reiterated its support to the August 3, 2015, Framework Agreement arrived between the Government of India and the NSCN (IM), and urged both the parties to take the Framework Agreement forward to an honourable settlement which is acceptable to the Nagas at the earliest. According to a release issued by Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat, the Forum in its meeting at its conference hall on June 15 entrusted the Parliamentary Working Committee along with all elected members of the Legislative Assembly including 2 MPs, under the leadership of the Speaker and Chief Minister to go to Delhi and put pressure on the central leadership for an early solution and to find out the latest developments taking place in the negotiations between the Government of India and the NSCN(IM). The meeting also appealed to the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) and the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) to be more pro-active in bridging the gaps between the different political groups so that they can contribute towards solving the Naga political problem at this crucial juncture.
