Legislators and bureaucrats celebrate pre-Christmas

A combine pre-Christmas celebration of legislators and bureaucrats was held at Sate Banquet hall in Kohima on Sunday.
Chief Minister TR Zeliang in his greeting said that one should celebrate Christmas with its true spirit. He also said that Christmas is a season to forgive each other as ‘God has given His only son to deliver us from our sin.’ He added that people should unite ‘our hearts’ and translate the true meaning of peace among ‘ourselves’ and to the society. Concluding his message he wished everyone a merry Christmas and prosperous new year.
Toshi Aier, Chief Secretary in his short greeting said that legislators and bureaucrats are one and one without the other is incomplete. He also said that combine pre Christmas celebration of this kind is unique and that they have to work in sync for the welfare of the people.
Rev K Luruo who was the main speaker of the programme emphasized on the importance of peace. “Joy comes not from doing our will but the will of God,” he said. He added that people should make room for the ‘Prince of peace’ to come into their heart this Christmas.
The programme was chaired by Kuzholuzo Nienu while Asangla Phom read the scripture and special songs were presented by Dr. Nicky Kire, Chotishu Sazo, lady wives of Legislators, Vikheho, Viketol & friends and Naga Orpheus winners.
