The visit was undertaken to verify rumours of encroachment on departmental land.

On inspection, it was found out that there has been some unauthorised construction.

“Whereas the land in question has been leased to a private concerned for industrial development, but any additional construction has to be done with the permission of the department. Hence, it is hereby notified that all the present construction, at the entrance of the plot and at the rear of the plot, are to be stopped immediately and that the department will be taking necessary action in this regard,” an update from the department stated on Saturday.

The department of Industries and Commerce further clarified that it has no intention of selling the land to any party.
