[dropcap]L[/dropcap]egendary local singer Methaneilie Jütakhrie is all set to enchant the people with his ‘Stage Comeback’ live concert on December 20 at Kohima Local Ground (Khuochiezie) from 5 pm onwards.
Having being into the singing his own compositions in local, lingua franca Nagamese and Tenyidie alongside entertaining with his Kishore Kumar songs for almost 47 years now, the event organizers, Tsütuonuomia Youth Organization (TYO) of Kohima village, has aptly entitled the concert as Methaneilie Jütakhrie – the Minstrel “Old Flames of Local Music”.
Addressing a press conference at Where’s The Food? (WTF) New Minister’s Hill, near Cathedral here this evening, the organizers said that Methaneilie along with his band members Aren Imsong (Guitar), John Jamir (Bass Guitar), Kekhrie (Drums) and Neiu Zumvü (Keyboard) will perform live for two hours with his oldies and also from recent albums and hindi oldies.Organizing committee media convener Edward Whuorie, TYO president Ruokuophrelie Belho, general secretary Kevisevolie Solo, advisor Kezhazer Angami and Concert Manager Boulie Whuorie addressed the press conference.
The organizers informed that Methaneilie had expressed the willingness to help the youth body to generate fund towards their own sustainability and also to carry out some charitable works.
Therefore, TWO accepted his offer with a view to invest the profit for some charitable works. The tickets have been priced at Rs 2000 for donors (entry two) and Rs 100 for general (entry one). Tickets are being sold at different locations in Kohima and Dimapur while interested spectators/audiences can purchase it at the entry gates of local ground on the same evening.
The organizers also informed that a lucky draw will be held in the midst of the concert wherein the selected winner will be awarded with the legend’s own Special Guitar, which Methaneilie will be using even during the said concert, CDs of 25 Albums and a book containing the lyrics of the songs.
The winner will be selected from amongst the registered members of the ‘Methaneilie Jütakhrie Fans Club’ facebook page, they said adding that further information on the lucky draw can be referred and uploaded through the actively operated facebook page.
The organizers are expecting a crowd of not less than 5000 people to listen and enjoy the performance of the legendary singer, who will also be joined by local rapper LC Sekhose as special appearance.
Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Resources & Sports (YRS), New & Renewable Energy (NRE), Music Task Force (MTF) and Chairman, DPDB Kohima Khriehu Liezietsu will be the chief patron on the occasion.
