Legal authority holds awareness with victims of drug abuse

[caption id="attachment_261106" align="aligncenter" width="565"] PDLSA officials along with the participants pose for a photograph during the legal awareness programme at Ahthibung town on July 18.[/caption] Dimapur, July 18 (EMN): The Peren District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) organised a legal awareness programme with the victims of drug abuse on the theme “Eradication of drug menace” at Athibung town on June 18. Resource person and retainer lawyer, Asungbe, spoke on Drug Abuse and Eradication of Drug Menace Scheme 2015, while a panel lawyer, Italang, spoke on the Drug and Cosmetic Act 1940. During the programme personal testimony on challenges and menace of drugs and substance abuse was shared by Lelen and Chonmong. Somet Chang highlighted on the various roles played by the legal services authority for the marginalised and downtrodden citizens. She also encouraged and motivated the drug abuse victims to be active participants in the development of the society and to do away with drugs and other substance abuse. Panel lawyer, Asuni, chaired the programme and Lalboi said the invocation. Altogether 40 persons attended the programme.
