Dimapur, May 14 (EMN): The Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) has settled a total of 211 cases amounting to INR 3,14,95,820 during the National Lok Adalat held in eleven district headquarters on Saturday.
An update from NSLSA stated that of 211 out of the total 642 cases were disposed off during its 2nd quarterly National Lok Adalat for the current financial year. The cases listed for compromise settlement included pending stage as well as in pre-litigation stage mostly in the category of bank recovery, criminal compoundable cases and motor accident cases tribunal (MACT) and other cases such as public utility.
In Kiphire, five out of 12 cases were disposed with the total settlement amount of INR 2,90,187.50, while in Peren 21 case of bank loan defaulters were settled and recovered a total amount of INR 16,73,341.
In Mon, five out of 20 bank recovery cases were settled with a total settlement amount of INR 258000, while in Wokha 10 out of 11 cases pertaining to bank recovery at pre litigation stage and criminal compoundable were settled amounting to INR 332568.6.
In Zunheboto, two out of three cases were disposed off, while in Longleng a total of nine cases relating to bank loans were settled amounting to INR 3,49,500.
In Tuensang, 19 cases of 24 cases were disposed with a total settlement amount of INR 9,70,468, while in Dimapur 59 cases amounting to INR 1,93,77,678 were settled, while in Phek 21 out of 26 cases were disposed off amounting to INR 20,78,711.
In Kohima, a total of 450 cases were put up before the Lok Adalat including one civil case and 200 telephone/ mobile bill cases. Report stated that 54 cases were settled amounting to INR 8,04,723.15.
