Dimapur, Jan. 30: A lecture on ‘cashless economy: future of demonitisation’ was conducted for troops of 9 Assam Rifles and their families at Cheiswema Garrison, by A Morimenba Amer and Moasunep Kichu of National Institute of Electronic and Information Technology. The aim of the lecture was primarily to impart knowledge on cashless economy and benefits of the same. Topics on challenges in making India a cashless economy including various steps taken by RBI and GOI to discourage the use of cash were covered. 9 Assam Rifles felt it was an innovative step towards strong nation building and making the banking sector paperless to include deposit, withdrawal and remittance transactions. It said the novel step would be a game changing move in the industry by reducing process time and simply capturing these details via mobile.
