Dimapur, April 22 (EMN): Nagaland-based NGO Pro Rural in collaboration with Churches Auxiliary For Social Action (Casa) conducted a three-day “Leadership Development Workshop” for CBO leaders of Nsong block in Peren district from April 15 to 17
th.
Leaders from 11 villages attended the workshop and officials of Casa under the leadership of Lesehu Meru and staff of Pro Rural facilitated the three-day workshop, informed a statement issued by project coordinator Kevineituo Tepa.
Sulunthung, EAC Tenning and Nsong blocks of Peren district delivered a thought-provoking and inspiring speech on “The Process for Community Empowerment” during the programme. The culminating session was on vision building and planning for the next five years – “My Village I want to have Five Years from Now” -- which was presented by pro rural staff.
A project of Casa has been implemented by Pro Rural to bring about awareness, particularly on “rights and entitlements” of the rural communities that was launched in 2018, informed the press release.
It went on to say that the public has been benefitted by the project, which has a vision to empower the rural communities to understand their rights and entitlements as guaranteed in the constitution of India as well as to make them aware of various governmental schemes for backward communities.
