Law students oppose order asking unvaccinated employees to produce Covid negative report
Dimapur, July 20 (EMN): The Nagaland Law Students’ Federation (NLSF) has opposed the state government’s order asking the employees in the Nagaland Civil Secretariat and Directorates to inoculate or produce Covid-19 negative test report every 15 days in order to attend office.
The federation stated in a press release that the order is unreasonable, unjust, unfair and biased. It said “the present scenario mandates restrictions which law permits but not at the cost of the lives of the citizens”.
“Inoculation is voluntary, coercion is illegal,” read the press release, adding: “If any attempt by forcing, coercing, luring or pressuring- No Pay, No Salary to inoculate infringing the activities of the citizen is a direct challenge to Article 21 and also a contempt of court.”
Reminding that the Supreme Court and various High Courts in the country had ruled against forced inoculation, it stated that “a person has the fundamental right to choose medication as per his/her choice”.
