n a representation to the chairman of Delimitation Commission, government of India, which was submitted through the deputy commissioner, Kihpire, Lapo opposed the proposal for a separate Kiphire sadar assembly constituency seat – a representation put up by the Kiphire sadar assembly constituency committee on delimitation (KSACCD) on June 22.

A Lapo representation issued on Sunday stated that the proposal of the KSACC on delimitation was made without the knowledge of the general public of Longmatra area. It stated that the proposal and representation to the government of India on delimitation do not hold any support or represent the views of the general public.

It also stated that the Lapo, during its meeting on ‘delimitation exercise’ on September 12, had decided to remain under 59 Seyochung-Sitimi assembly constituency, while two villages to remain under 60 Kiphire-Pungro assembly constituency since the representation submitted by the KSACCD was made without any consultations.

It has, therefore, sought the intervention of the Delimitation Commission to let the villages remain under the same constituencies.
