Administrative officers of the area and local authorities including Zhadima’s village leaders visited the affected locations on Monday. The routes were temporarily cleared for light vehicles, updates stated. Elsewhere, in Dimapur, troops of the Assam Rifles, personnel from the ‘Army,’ and civil administration evacuated people who reportedly were stranded following rising waters of Diphu River.  A note from the security force on Monday said water flooded houses in Domokhia village. The civil administration requisitioned the services of the ‘Army/AR’ to rescue the stranded villagers, the note stated. ‘A combined team of Assam AR/Army and civil administration reached the spot by afternoon and by evening all locals were evacuated safely to the relief camp established at the government school in the village. The locals were provided with hot food by the troops of AR and the relief camp was provided lighting arrangements and drinking water facilities too,’ the defence statement stated.
