Landowners Pattadars submit list of members to DC Dimapur

DIMAPUR — The Forum of Landowners Pattadars, Dimapur, whose lands are under army occupation, stated in a letter to the deputy commissioner of Dimapur that, as directed, the forum has submitted a list of registered members to the office and requested that the DC examine and forward it to the Ministry of Defence as soon as possible.

The letter also stated that on May 24, a team from the forum met and discussed the matter with the former DC Dimapur, where the forum informed him about the prolonged delay and requested that he forward it to the defence ministry, to which the DC agreed.

It went on to say that the forum’s secretary and executive member wrote to the DC on February 6, 2024, about the matter, and that it has been writing to the government about it for decades.

It was reported that the forum was informed that the matter had been sent to the government for opinion and was awaiting confirmation last year. However, it was recently revealed that the same had not been sent.

The forum mentioned that the process has reached the stage of handing over and taking over, and the party wants to finalise and settle it as early as possible. It further reminded that the joint survey map had already been approved.
