Lakhuti village first in state to get football ground under Khelo India
WOKHA — Advisor of Youth Resource and Sports (YRS), Nagaland, S Keoshu Yimkhiung, on Saturday inaugurated the football ground under Khelo India at Lakuti village, Wokha district.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the YRS advisor lauded Mhathung Yanthan, advisor for Agriculture, for his active in successful completion of the estimated INR 5 crore project.
Reminding the villagers that the football ground will ultimately benefit them, he also acknowledged Lakhuti village as a remarkable village leading in all aspects among the Lotha community.
Mhathung Yanthan, advisor for Agriculture, who accompanied Yimkhiung, in his address, informed that Lakhuti village was the first among the Lotha villages to embrace Catholic Christianity in Nagaland.
And it was the catholic institutions that helped the villagers to produce good number of government servants and intellectuals, he said.
He acknowledged Yimkhiung for creating another history in the village, which became the “youngest Khelo India construction project in the state.”
Kethosituo Sekhose, Director of YRS, in his vote of thanks, said that the Lakhuti project is the youngest and first project to be successfully completed and inaugurated in the state under Khelo India construction project.
