SHILLONG, NOVEMBER 19

Shillong Lajong Football Club on Tuesday launched their mobile application on Android and iOS platforms, thus becoming the first football club in India to have a mobile app. The application can be downloaded on iPad and Android tablets as well. The mobile app will have all the latest Shillong Lajong info like team, game previews and reviews, score updates, standings, youth team, pictures, videos and lots more, an official said.“Shillong Lajong mobile app is another step in the club’s endeavour to stay connected to its fans,” Larsing Ming Sawyan, Managing Director of the club said. “Mobiles have now become the primary source to browse and to consume information from the internet,” he said. It thus becomes essential that we present the fans the opportunity to update themselves with the latest happenings at the club through this app.
Developed by a Delhi-based company, the app is aimed to keep the fans abreast of the development that takes place within and outside the club.
Lajong, which earned their first berth in the I-League in 2009, has done remarkably well on and off the pitch. They have recently added McDowells as their fourth sponsor for the I-League.
Aircel is the club’s main sponsor along with Adidas and Kingfisher being the kit and associate sponsors respectively.
Earlier, this year Lajong tied up with kyazoonga.com to become India’s first football club to offer match tickets online. Shillong Lajong Football Club on Tuesday launched their mobile application on Android and iOS platforms, thus becoming the first football club in India to have a mobile app.
