Kohima, Oct. 2 (EMN): L Chuom Phom from Nagaland won two subtitles -- best walk and people's choice award -- in Top Model India, season - 6 under female category held last month in Delhi.

Altogether, 18 contestants including nine female and nine male participants took part in the pageant.

19-year-old Phom, who is also a third semester History student at Sazolie College in Jotsoma, got through the top 5, and was one of three female contestants from the Northeastern states at the event.

Interacting with Eastern Mirror, Phom informed that she was selected to take part in the pageant after an interview, following her first breakthrough as the runner-up at this year's Mega Model Hunt at RCEMPA Jotsoma in Kohima.

She said her modelling career started after her participation at the Mega Model Hunt.

It was learnt that Phom was selected to walk in the India Style Fashion Week slated for October 14 and 15 in Delhi. However, it was informed that owing to her exams, she will not be able to make it at the event.

Phom, whose hobbies include reading, listening to music and playing basketball, expressed her desire to become a civil servant.

The young model added that she would focus on both her studies and modelling.

"Modelling to me is a profession and a platform of opportunity. It is a passion that keeps me moving so that I can explore, experience and learn new things in life through it,”she said.
