DIMAPUR — Kyong Nchumchio Okho (KNO), a Dimapur-based non-profit organisation, is all set to host its much-awaited cultural and entertainment event ‘Tokhu Night’ coinciding with the Tokhu Emong festival which is scheduled to be held on November 7 at the Multi-Discipline Sports Complex in Dimapur.
The event aims to showcase the rich heritage of the Lotha community while promoting unity, local talent, and community welfare.
Announcing the event during a press conference at Lotha Hoho Ki near DC Court in Dimapur on Saturday, KNO Chairman Mhademo shared that the organisation was established on January 30, 2010, by 12 founding members with a shared vision to serve society through charitable initiatives. Since its inception, KNO has organised numerous free medical camps, provided educational assistance, and offered scholarships to underprivileged students.
Advisor Benathung Kithan highlighted that KNO currently comprises of about 40 members from diverse professions, all united in their commitment to the welfare of the Lotha community. He added that their activities, though modest, are purposeful and aimed at encouraging the younger generations to uphold community values.
He further mentioned that after a two-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, KNO successfully revived its events in 2024, drawing an audience of nearly 5,000 people.

Member Benjamin expressed that when God blesses them, it is important to give back, and the overwhelming response from last year motivated them to continue hosting meaningful events.
This year’s Tokhu Night will feature live performances by three bands and solo artistes, along with food stalls, cultural showcases, and raffle draws while around 20 stalls would be set up, with priority given to Lotha entrepreneurs and artists.
The event will have free entry, welcoming people of all ages to join the celebration.
Beyond entertainment, the event seeks to promote local artistes, nurture young talent, and strengthen cultural ties within the community. Funds raised will go toward future welfare initiatives, including medical camps and community outreach programmes.
The organisers emphasised that the essence of Tokhu Night lies in celebrating with purpose preserving their culture, supporting one another, and giving back to society.
