The Kigwema Youth Organization (KYO) platinum jubilee meet entered the second day on Thursday at Kholera Ground, Kigwema. Highlights of the day included men’s football and women’s volleyball events which were played between the five sectors of the village while the preliminary field and track events were played earlier. The finals of the events will be played on Friday at the same venue.
So far, Makhuma sector has swept the majority of medals including 18 gold, 7 silver and 6 bronze while Kipho-Seca players have won 21 medals, Seca 17, and Khamima and Merama 14 each.
The closing function of the 75 years jubilee meet will be held on January 17 wherein principal secretary for Environment & Forests, NN Zhasa will be guest of honour. MLA from the village, Vikho-o Yhoshii is chief host of the celebration.
