KVSU holds seminar on importance of rural libraries
KIPHIRE — The Kisetong Village Students’ Union (KVSU) organised a seminar on August 27 at Kisetong village, Kiphire, on ‘Importance of rural library’.
K Rothrongki Sangtam, patron and proprietor of Trinity School Kiphire and former president of KVSU, was the resource person.
Rothrongki, speaking on the occasion, emphasised the significance of libraries as institutions that foster knowledge, enhance reading and writing skills, and provide access to lifelong learning opportunities. He also stressed their role as social hubs that bring communities together, cultivate a love for reading, and promote social cohesion.
The seminar, chaired by Lumrila, began with a welcome address by the executive chairman of KVSU and an invocation by pastor KBL. Thsikichum Sangtam, president of KVSU, expressed gratitude to all participants and attendees for making the event a success.
