KVSA pays homage to Oting victims

Kohima, Jan. 21 (EMN): Paying homage to the civilians who were murdered during the Oting incident (Mon), players along with KVSA officials held a moment of silence before the games, as the outdoor and indoor games of the 65th Kohima Village Sports Association (KVSA), organised by Kohima Village Youth Organisation (KVYO) concluded on Friday.

On day-five of the week-long KVSA meet, Tsütuonuomia (T) Khel defeated Lhisemia (L) Khel 1-0 in the men’s football final at IG Stadium, Kohima, wherein Medoneituo Sekhose scored the lone goal in favour of T Khel.

In men’s volleyball, L Khel defeated Pfuchatsumia (P) Khel in the final, while T Khel won the women’s volleyball competition after defeating Dapfhütsumia (D) Khel.

T Khel defeated D Khel in the men’s and L Khel won the women’s category in basketball.

In badminton mixed doubles (open), L Khel beat D Khel, while in the men’s single, L Khel took both the first and second positions. In the women’s doubles, L Khel beat D Khel, while in women’s single, L Khel defeated T Khel. In the men’s doubles, P Khel defeated T Khel.

In table tennis, P Khel claimed both the first and second positions in men’s and women’s singles as well as women’s doubles. In the mixed doubles, L Khel beat P Khel and in men’s doubles, L Khel defeated T Khel.

P Khel defeated D Khel in the women’s category of the table tennis group competition, while P Khel defeated T Khel in men’s division.

Meanwhile, L Khel won over P Khel in men’s badminton. In chess open competition, L Khel swept both first and second positions, while L Khel beat P Khel in the team competition.

On Saturday, Naga style wrestling will begin at 9 am at Khuochiezie, cross-race country from 11:30 am onwards outside the venue followed by closing ceremony at 4:30 pm at Khuochiezie.
