KVK Mon organised a training on insect pest management under the National Mission on Natural Farming for 89 farmers on January 24.

DIMAPUR — The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Mon, organised a training on the management of insect pests and diseases on January 24 under the National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF) programme.
Addressing the keynote, Dr. V Akashe Zhimomi, senior scientist and head, highlighted a brief introduction on the NMNF, according to a press release.
K Konwang Konyak, Konyak Union (KU) president, Aboi unit, encouraged the participants to equip themselves with the latest knowledge about emerging scientific techniques in farming.
During the technical session, master trainer Dr. Ruopfüselhou Kehie, assistant chief technical officer (Plant Protection), trained the farmers on the management of insect pests and diseases with special reference to natural farming. This included the release and conservation of natural enemies, the use of pheromone traps, and trap cropping.

E Renbomo Ngullie, assistant chief technical officer (Horticulture), highlighted an overview of the package and practices on the cultivation of kharif potato under natural farming.
Altogether 89 participants from various self-help groups (SHG) and progressive farmers from 10 villages attended the training.
