KVK Mon celebrates World Soil Day

Dimapur, Dec. 5 (EMN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Mon, celebrated the World Soil Day on December 5 on the theme “Keep soil alive, protect soil biodiversity”.

An update from KVK Mon stated that the programme was chaired by Dr. Paihem Michui, ACTO (Animal Science), while the welcome address was delivered by Kevi Medom, TO (Computer).

It also stated that Imtinuksung, SMS (Soil Conservation) highlighted the significance of World Soil Day and also spoke on various topics such as status of soil in the district, measures to improve the soil health, cropping system to enhance soil fertility etc. during the technical session.

The farmers were oriented about the new farm laws enacted recently by government of India in the last session.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Myinthungo Murry, TO (Farm). It stated that a total of 35 persons attended the programme.
