DIMAPUR — The XVI Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kohima was held on Wednesday at its office conference hall.

According to an update, the meeting was chaired by Ruovilhou Riilho, district agriculture officer in Tseminyu, and was attended by various district officers of agriculture and ATMA, horticulture, Veterinary Service and Animal Husbandry, Sericulture, Land Resource, and Forest Department, as well as other line departments, progressive farmers, and farmer producer organisations.

Sanuzo Neinu, joint director of Agriculture, addressing the meeting on the occasion, emphasised the importance of KVK in the district and its purpose to serve the rural masses and farming community for their upliftment.

The joint director also released a literature publication titled "A Manual Guide to Gardening and FAITH (Food Always in the Home) Garden Techniques" at the event.

Dr. Ruokuovilie Mezhatsu, principal scientist and head, discussed KVK mandated activities and presented a detailed annual progress report for KVK Kohima for the fiscal year 2023–24.

The annual action plan (AAP) of KVK Kohima for the fiscal year 2024–25 was also presented during the meeting, and following thorough discussion and deliberation, the house unanimously approved the AAP, it said.
