DIMAPUR — An awareness and training programme on biofertilisers and sustainable agricultural practices was conducted by ICAR–Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Dimapur, in collaboration with Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Medziphema block, at Pherima A Village on Monday.
According to an update, KVK Dimapur stated that the programme was organised under the thematic area of promoting eco-friendly and sustainable farming systems.
A total of 24 farmers from the village actively participated in the programme, showing enthusiasm towards learning improved and sustainable agricultural practices.
The training was conducted by technical experts and extension personnel, including Dr. Moanaro, programme assistant, KVK Dimapur, who shared practical knowledge on the use and benefits of biofertilisers.

During the programme, emphasis was laid on the importance of biofertilisers as a cost-effective and environmentally safe alternative to chemical fertilisers.
Farmers were educated on different types of biofertilisers, methods of application, and their role in enhancing soil fertility, improving nutrient availability, and sustaining crop productivity.
In addition, sustainable agricultural practices such as integrated nutrient management and soil health improvement were also discussed.
Farmers actively engaged in discussions, clarified their doubts, and expressed keen interest in adopting biofertilisers and sustainable practices for improving their farm productivity and maintaining long-term soil health, the update stated.
