Dimapur — Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) in Dimapur and Kohima commemorated the third anniversary of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 held in their respective schools on Friday.
Speaking at the programme in Dimapur, the school principal, MH Shimray, said the NEP 2020 would play a crucial role if implemented in ‘letter and spirit’ and added that the policy was appreciated by many educationists, political leaders and others.
Describing NEP 2020 as a wonderful and ambitious policy, he however remarked that its implementation could be a problem as under the new policy students till Class 5 would be taught in their mother tongue, whereas the students are from different backgrounds.
Stating that NEP 2020 has many advantages as students have a multitude of options to choose from, he encouraged them not to limit themselves to one thing but to broaden their horizons. He added that by 2025, they must achieve the minimum target of NEP.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]He also highlighted the work undertaken by Kendriya Vidyalaya Dimapur to achieve holistic and multi-disciplinary education as well as the practice of the teaching-learning process through which students could enjoy quality and innovative education.
He further stressed the steps taken by the Vidyalaya to ensure quality childhood care and education through the new curriculum and pedagogical structure.
Besides, he also emphasised the commitment to achieving an equitable and inclusive quality education among all learners.
The programme was attended by the principal of Project Sewak School, S Chopra, and other representatives from Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) and Central Board of School Education (CBSE).
In Kohima, the school principal, Santosh Kumar Roy focused on various aspects of NEP 2020 and informed that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, would inaugurate the second Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam on July 29 in New Delhi coinciding with the 3rd anniversary of NEP 2020.
Jatta Shankar, TGT Bio, spoke on the vision and background of NEP 2020, while Avinash Shelar, PRT Music, spoke on the re-alignment of admission age and Nipun initiatives and Amit Kumar, PRT, spoke on the national curriculum framework for foundational stage (NCF FS).
Further, Jagdeep Kumar Singh, TGT Maths, and Rakesh Kumar, TGT Hindi, shed light on the implementation of NEP 2020 in Kendriya Vidyalaya.
