KUM appreciates NSCN (IM) for undertaking peace mission
DIMAPUR — The Konyak Union Myanmar (KUM) has appreciated the NSCN (IM) under the leadership of General Ningkhan Shimray, Longvibu of Naga army-cum-coordinator, for undertaking the ‘Mount Veda Peace Mission’ to eastern Konyak region.
KUM stated that the peace mission team of NSCN (IM) has brought about peace among the Naga national groups especially during the unprecedented situations of chaos and factional fights following the split in NSCN/GPRN (K) in eastern Nagaland.
It stated that the peace mission team has helped made peace and stop infighting within the NSCN/GPRN (K) from October 21, 2023, by holding consultative meeting with the two NSCN/GPRN (K) groups, one led by its president, Yung Ang, and the other led by the president, Maj. Gen. (retired) Ang Mai.
KUM has appreciated General Ningkhan Shimray, chief commander of the Naga army-cum-coordinator, for his wisdom by initiating to reach out to the public in eastern Konyak jurisdiction, who are facing untold situations.
Meanwhile, KUM and the Konyak Studens’ Union Myanmar (KSUM) have appreciated Capt. Atem, PRO-cum-chaplain, for holding consultative meeting and highlighting the objective of the peace mission in order to bring about reconciliation among entire Naga national workers and the public.
KUM also urged the two groups of NSCN/GPRN (K) led by Maj. Gen. (retired) Ang Mai and Yung Ang to unite and make peace before signing peace talks with the India and Myanmar governments.
KUM further stated that peace and unity among the Naga leaders should be the first step towards achieving the Naga national goal.
