Dimapur, May 17 (EMN): Continuing its effort in respond to the local needs and training unemployed youths, Kudatech Skill Centre (KSC) Walford Colony, Dimapur, has successfully conducted six weeks skill development programme on electrical house wiring, sponsored by Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).
The valedictory programme was organised with Holohon Yepthomi, (ADC Tening) and S Pauminthang Gangte, branch manager of SIDBI, Dimapur as resource persons on May 17.
Yepthomi in his address stated that there is ample works lying vacant for skilled people and he encouraged the trainees to implement their skill with sincerity and dedication. He also emphasised that the economy of Nagas will definitely grow if it engaged more local people in skill sector.
Gangte in his speech challenged the trainees to be an asset in the society. He also mentioned various bank loans facilities available for genuine local entrepreneurs. Advised the trainees to work hard, he pointed out that there is no substitute for skilled and hard worker.
A member from Dial Nagaland, an initiative of YouthNet, interacted with trainees for placement and addressed the issues of inaccessibility of local skilled workers and to help the local skilled workers in their marketing by creating linkages and publicity.
A total of 30 unemployed youths were successfully trained and certificates were handed to them.
Director of KSC mentioned that the centre was established in 2009 as a government registered society to deal in skilling and vocational training. The training centre aims to respond to the local needs and make available the facilities of the Institute for training of youths through various skill development programmes, he added.
He also informed that institute has successfully trained hundreds of unemployed youths on various courses such as electrician (domestic), repair and maintenance of electrical gadgets, house wiring, carpentry, masonry, driver cum mechanic, automobile welding and fabrication PC maintenance among others.
