Dimapur, June 16 (EMN): Konyak Union (KU) and Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK) bade farewell to the outgoing deputy commissioner of Mon, Thavaseelan K, during a programme held in Mon town on June 15.
KU and KNSK have expressed gratitude to the outgoing DC for his astute professionalism in handling several difficult situations and odd cases in the district during his stay for four years and seven months. It stated that the outgoing DC has been instrumental in bringing many private parties from across the country and abroad to contribute in developing Mon district.
KU president, Tingthok Konyak, and the KNSK president, Ponglem Konyak, testified that the drastic changes during his time especially the development of District Hospital and Wangkhao Government College was a living witness for all to see.
Stating that Thavaseelan K was known for his humility and approachable nature, the two organisations have appreciated him for his sincerity and commitment to the cause of the district. KU and KNSK further wished him success in his future endeavors.
Meanwhile, KU and KNSK have welcomed the new DC, Ajit Kumar Verma. The organisations expressed hope that the new DC would carry forward the legacy left by his predecessor and also bring new developments to the district. They have assured fullest cooperation and support to the new DC and look forward to working together for peace and all round development of the district.
KU also expressed gratitude to P Paiwang Konyak, minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, for paying a courtesy visit to encourage the new KU team at its office. It also acknowledged the Tangnyu village council and Angh for paying a visit to encourage and pray for the new KU team.
