DIMAPUR — The Kiphire Town Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KTCCI) and the Tenyimi Youth Organisation Dimapur District (TYOD) have extended support to the stand of the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) against multiple taxation levied by different Naga political groups.

In a press release, the KTCCI informed that the trade body had an emergency meeting on April 26 wherein it decided to impose total shutter down in Kiphire district headquarters on Saturday (April 27) from 6 am to 5 pm, in compliance with the directive of the Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI).

More organisations back DCCI’s indefinite shutter down call

“In due course of time and in connection to the ‘Indefinite shutter down’ called by CNCCI and DCCI in Dimapur and other districts, no individuals/ members of business community should be involved in any sort of price rise/hike, hoarding of goods or other unauthorised activities,” the release stated.

The KTCCI also requested the general public and CSOs to extend cooperation and also bear with the inconvenience.

Further, any information regarding the proposed shutter down shall be updated officially through the press and social media platforms by KTCCI, in consultation with the CNCCI, it added.

Meanwhile, in a separate press release, the Tenyimi Youth Organisation Dimapur District (TYOD) also informed that the union decided to give full support and solidarity to the clarion call of the DCCI against the unabated multiple taxation and harassment meted out to the business community by various Naga political groups. 

The TYOD also appealed its federating units to co-operate in the indefinite shutdown.
