Our Correspondent Kohima, Aug 30 (EMN): Reigning champions of the 2nd Kohima Football League Sechü Zubza FC will clash with New Market FC, runners-up of the previous year’s KTC cup, in the final match of the 2nd KTC Cup at the Kohima local ground on Friday from 2:00 pm. The event is organised by the Kohima Town Club. The team manager of Sechu Zubza Neidilhoutuo Sechü said, "New Market FC is always a team to look out for. Though football is a team game, yet they have some quality players who on any given day, can turn the match to their favour with their individual performance." Asked if their previous defeat to New Market FC by a margin of 5-2 would be a worry for his team, the SZFC manager said that his team was up for challenge against New Market in the KTC final. "While we defeated them (NMFC) in the first leg by 2-1, they came back strong in the second leg to beat us 5-2. However, I am confident that my team will bounce back stronger against a side which defeated us badly in our last encounter." The manager has confirmed that the injured players who were rested, are fully fit and would be available for Friday's final match. "We are looking forward to play an exciting match against a quality side. Just hoping that the weather will be good tomorrow. "We feel sorry to our players who have to play in mud-soaked conditions. Almost all the KFL matches were played in wet conditions where the players were the ones who suffered most," said Sechü. Kikrukhrielie Rutsa, the team manager of New Market FC said that his team was ready and excited to play the final match. "The final match is a must win game since New Market haven't won any major trophy for almost half decade. "It looks like a derby for both the two playing teams because both sides has huge numbers of supporters who come out to watch their games," the manager said. Interestingly, Sechu Zubza was awarded for the best fan club this year while New Market FC also was awarded the best fan club the previous year in KFL-1. The winner of the KTC cup will walked home with a cash prize of INR 30,000 and the runners-up INR 20,000. Major General Pradeep C Nair of the IGAR (N) will be the special guest during the closing ceremony. The organisers have informed that there would be a lucky draw for the KTC ticket holders.
