DIMAPUR — The Konyak Students’ Union (KSU) has issued a reminder to the Department of School Education (DoSE) to upgrade Govt. High School ‘C’, Mon, to Govt. Higher Secondary School and introduction of Commerce stream at GHSS ’D.’
The union, in a press release, disclosed that it had submitted a representation in this regard; however, the government and department concerned did no heed to the KSU’s grievances.
“Even this year a total number of 2431 students are appearing the HSLC examination from Mon district and maximum number of students will be seeking admission within the district.
“As such, the union urges the concerned authority to kindly upgrade the existing GHS ‘C’ to GHSS and to introduce Commerce stream at GHSS ‘D’ with sufficient teaching faculties and make it functional from this academic session 2024,” the union appealed.
Further, expressing displeasure over the “proxy culture” in almost all the government schools, the KSU cautioned that if any teacher is caught indulging in such practices, then “legal action” would be initiated against the defaulters.
