DIMAPUR, APRIL 14

KYONG Students Union (KSU) has observed Black Day (Martyrs Day) on April 14 in remembering the two martyrs who sacrificed their precious lives on April 14, 1977.
The day is observed in remembrance of its two deceased members who were killed during a silent procession protest by the then Lotha Student’s Union against the inhuman act and man-handling of the then SDO (C) Ralan by the Assam Police. Since then KSU has been observing the day as Black Day/Martyr Day in memory of late Thungkumo and late Chumdamo Lotha.
The KSU officials led by its president, Amos Odyuo, paid floral tribute at the Martyrs Park and visited the two martyrs’ parents and family members and held a floral laying ceremony at their grave yards.
