Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): While acknowledging the effort of the government of Nagaland in tackling the Covid-19 pandemic, the Kuki Students’ Organisation Nagaland (KSON) has extended its support to the demand made by the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) to lift the Covid-19 cess on petrol and diesel prices an appealed to the government to look into the matter in the interest of the public.

“At such a time when the general public is trying to recover from the effects of the extensive lockdown, the continual imposition of cess on essential commodities such as fuel prices has proven to be a great burden to business especially small enterprises and transportation services which directly or indirectly affects the public,” the union stated.

Therefore, the KSON stated that it is imperative that the state government empathise with the woes of the public and revoke the Covid-19 cess.
