Kohima, June 27 (EMN): The Kohima Sűmi Hoho (KSH) has sought a judicial inquiry into the June 23 incident near the Y junction in Kohima where one person was shot dead.

A press release that was issued on June 27 by the KSH asked the government to set up a judicial inquiry to examine whether the act of killing was justified and whether it could have been averted.

The organisation asked, “If the act of killing was sanctioned, whether the order was given by appropriate authority.”

The press release stated: ‘Since the guilt and innocence of a person can only be established in the court of law, much restraint should have been applied to avert the killing owing to the fact that the deceased was unarmed as such he was not posing any threat. Therefore, resorting to such act of killing was totally unacceptable and condemnable.’
