KSA sensitises on importance of education
DIPHU — Langkaijan and Kirilangso units of Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) Inglongpho faction under Diphu Regional Committee (DRC) on Saturday organised an education awareness programme for the students and parents of Dengja Teron LP School at Lang-etso, which is 30 km away from Diphu.
While delivering on importance of education, KSA president, Litonsing Timung, said that an individual cannot prosper without education and will not have the knowledge of things in this fast changing world.
He encouraged the villagers to participate in the development of education saying that the government will not be able to provide assistance all the time. He has sought the collective efforts of both the parents and guardians for the development of education.
Timung has suggested contribution of INR 10, INR 20 and INR 100 from every individual for appointing of an extra teacher for starting a coaching centre for the children.
“You spend INR 10 or INR 20 daily unnecessarily on liquor. We can contribute the amount for starting a coaching centre for our children. The money can be used for paying the salary of the teacher. In this way we can improve the education of our children here,” Timung said.
The suggestions made by Timung was agreed by all and decided to start a coaching centre soon. Timung was the first person to extend his contribution for the purpose.
