KSA celebrates 62nd foundation day

Diphu, July 21 (EMN): Various Karbi Students’ Associations (KSA) observed the 62nd foundation day of the student organisation as ‘Karbi students’ day’ on Wednesday.

KSA (Thangsing Timung), KSA (Simeon Rongphar), KSA (Samson Teron) and KSA (Jemson Timung) factions observed the day at different places in the district.

The KSA Inglongpho faction led by president Thangsing Timung held it celebration at KSA, central executive committee office, Rongthe-ang, Diphu

Speaking to journalists, Timung said, “We dedicate this KSA foundation day as ‘Student’s day.’ We would like to encourage our youths to excel in their higher education in order to be able to serve the people.

“We would like to reiterate to the Central and State governments for immediate implementation of Article 244(A) of the India constitution for creation of an Autonomous State comprising the three hill districts of Assam, which is the immediate solution for the people of the hill districts. We also would like to say that the State government is going to establish a state university at Khanduli in West Karbi Anglong and 5000 bighas of land has been allotted by the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) to the State government for the purpose. But at the same time we want the Assam University Diphu Campus (AUDC) here, to become a full-fledged university for the betterment of the students of Karbi Anglong,” Timung said.

In an open session held as part of the celebration, Chairman, Karbi Language Development Board, KAAC, Longsing Teron; Principal, Diphu B.Ed. College, Dr. Lipson Rongpi, Ranjit Hanse, Assistant Professor, Diphu Government College and Advisers Leon Engleng, Bhudeswar Hanse and others attended the programme.
