Nagaland minister Kruse urges officers to play positive role for progress

KOHIMA — Minister of Women Resource Development and Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse, on Saturday told the officers to play positive role for the progress of society.

She stated this during the 3rd biennial conference of Western Angami Gazetted Officers’ Krotho (WAGOK) held at Shalom Bible Seminary in Sechü Zubza as the special guest. The minister stated that common people looks upon the officers to bring about positive changes, fostering development and ensuring betterment of the communities.

Kruse stated that gazetted officers can immensely contribute to the society and community as they hold important post within the government apparatus. She, therefore, called upon the officers to be sincere, dedicated and committed in the service of the people particularly in policy formulation and implementation in response to citizen needs.

“When considering your actions today, always keep in mind the future of your children,” the minister said and told the officers to give their best for the people.

In a short speech, the president of Western Angami Public Organisation (WAPO), Kepelhoutuo Chüsi, described officers as an intellectual group of people belonging to a refined society. He stated that gazetted officers should not become a liability to the society and advised them to display true Christian values in discharging their service.

Also speaking on the occasion, Rovilatuo Mor, a retired bureaucrat, stressed on the need to change people’s outlook towards government service as only a secure means of livelihood. He added that the basic purpose of government employees is to serve the public.

He further advised the officers to build a robust system, public relation and confidence wherever they are posted.

Speeches were delivered by Nibu Nagi and Dr. Zasekuolie Chüsi.

Meanwhile, a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2024-26 would be led by Rokovisa Chase as president and Dr. Vilie Medoze as general secretary.
