Dimapur July 23 (EMN): Kros College dept. of History has organised a state level seminar on July 21 at the college on the theme “Preserving the Past: The role of Oral Tradition in Naga History”.
The objective of the seminar was to promote and preserve the heritage of Naga history, which has been handed down orally, a press release received here on Monday informed.
Special guest, Dr. Zokho Venuh, vice principal of Capital College, Kohima, in his address stressed on the survey and identification of potential sites that is possible through the information available from oral tradition.
Research Scholars in History and Archaeology from Nagaland University, Kros andJapfu Christian colleges gave their paper presentation.
The seminar was a revelation for all present. It validated the fact that, Naga history could be written through oral tradition as source with archaeology validating the truth, the press release stated.
