KPC, Youth Net, IBM call on Chief Minister

A seven-member team of the Kohima Press Club (KPC) on Tuesday called on Chief Minister TR Zeliang at the CMO, Kohima. This was the first time a Chief Minister of the state granted official audience to members of KPC after the club was established in 2001.
The KPC members led by President Xavier Rutsa and advisor Kopelo Krome interacted with the Chief Minister and apprised him of the functions of the club. The press club members also shared some of the grievances that the press fraternity in Kohima faces while carrying out their duties in the service of the people.
The KPC also, on the occasion, submitted a general memorandum to the Chief Minister for maintenance of good rapport between the press and the state government and its various establishments.
The Chief Minister graciously assured to look into the points raised by the KPC for the welfare of the press fraternity. The KPC team included incumbent executive members and senior members. The Youth Net professional’s team comprising of MBAs, corporate trainers, social workers and experts in various domains called on the Chief Minister at his residential office.
At the meeting, Hikani Jhakalu highlighted the CM about the activities and programmes of YouthNet such as impact 5000 by 2018, Nagaland Job Center, Nagaland Career and Development Center, Youth Net Opportunity Express (weekly newsletter), RTI/Election watch, Young Leaders Connect etc.
Chief Minister wished the Youth Net team well in all their activities and said that they are in the right track and doing commendable job.
The Interim Body Members (IBM) paid a courtesy call to the Chief Minister Shri TR Zeliang at his Official Residence, Kohima today.
Before the meeting began the oldest member among the team Lothi Rengma invoked God’s blessing and said that the main purpose of the visit was to pray and bless the new Chief Minister of Nagaland.
During the meeting, the Interim Body Members took the opportunity to brief the Chief Minister on important issues such as to protect the rights of the Nagas referring to article 371(A) and also to recognize and uphold the customary laws of the Nagas.
The team members were T.Kikon Convenor & Ex IBM, Tokeho Sema Ex IBM and Lothi Rengma Ex IBM.
