Dimapur, Sep. 15 (EMN): With regular classes being paralysed since September 11 following agitation by teaching faculty, Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu Students’ Union (KPASU) had staged a protest in the institute premises to show displeasure over the indifferent attitude of the Directorate of Technical Education.
Majority of the teaching faculty comprising fixed paid lecturers have launched an agitating by abstaining from regular classes since September 11 due to non-payment of salary for six months beginning from March 2017.
KPASU, in a press release, stated that fixed paid faculty have decided to temporarily suspend the agitation from September 20 after receiving some positive response from the higher authority. It added that fixed paid faculty have threatened to resume its agitation indefinitely if tangible solution is not reached within the given stipulated time.
In this regard, KPASU has urged the government to fulfil the demand within the given stipulated time so that the career and future of the students are not put at stake. It further warned that the students would be compelled to taking drastic measures in the event of failure on any part.
