DIMAPUR — The Konyak Union (KU) Tobu Unit held a consultative meeting on the up-grade of Tobu ADC to a full-fledged district headquarter was held at Angjangyang town, Mon district on February 6.
The meeting was attended by leaders of various organisations and members of the public from two constituencies representing four administrative towns, 35 recognised villages, and seven unrecognised villages, the KU Tobu stated in an update.
The meeting observed that the up-grade of Tobu ADC has remained a long-pending people’s demand for nearly 20 years since 2006, despite consistent and peaceful representations by the people of Tobu and Moka areas.
“In view of the 2024 resolution on area and constituency demarcation adopted by the nine MLAs of Mon district, in consultation with the Konyak Union, the participants unanimously resolved to approach the competent authority once again for the early up-grade of Tobu ADC to a full-fledged district headquarter in the interest of effective administration and equitable delivery of government services,” the update added.
