A seminar about HIV and AIDS with the youth department of Konyak Baptist Church of Mon was held in Mon town on November 17. The event was organized as a collaboration of the Network of Mokokchung District People Living with HIV and AIDS, DAPCU, Turning Point Org, and Shansham Organization and with support from Bharti Infratel Ltd. More than 600 youth members of Konyak Baptist Church Mon attended, the organizers informed.
President of NMP+ Wapang highlighted the works of NMP+ and the key services provided to people living with HIV and AIDS. He also talked about the basics of transmission of HIV and related issues.
Advisor of NMP+ Toshi talked on the issues of stigma and discrimination attached to HIV. He called upon the members of the youth department to offer continual support in promoting awareness on HIV. He also encouraged people to access the services available and to mobilize community to create a favorable environment for people living with HIV.
