Konyak Ahngs reaffirm Chenmoho Resolution to abstain from Lok Sabha election in Nagaland
DIMAPUR — The Ahngs of Konyak villages have pledged to adhere to the February 23, Chenmoho Resolution, and the subsequent Konyak Union resolution of March 23, to abstain from participating in the upcoming election.
“We do so in firm protest against the failure of both the state and central governments to fulfil the promise of granting FNT, as assured by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to the ENPO. This unfulfilled commitment strikes at the heart of our trust in the governmental process and our collective aspirations,” the Ahngs stated in a statement issued through the KU on Tuesday.
As heads of their respective villages, the Ahngs vowed to “ensure the full abstention of our subjects and people, standing in solidarity with the ENPO’s call to abstain from voting.”
This action is not taken lightly but serves as a powerful testament to our deep-seated resentment and protest against broken promises and unfulfilled obligations, it asserted.
Further, it said that the respective Ahngs of Konyak villages shall abide by the resolution of the ENPO and KU, and comply with the directives of the Konyak civil societies to initiate any course of actions against those subjects or individual failing to adhere the ENPO and KU resolution within our respective jurisdictions.
