DIMAPUR— Sunday school department of the Koinonia Baptist Church (KBC) organised its Vacation Bible School (VBS) from June 21 to the 23rd on the theme 'Serve one another' (Galatians 5:13).

An update from KBC media ministry stated that the Sunday school superintendent, Belinda Kiewhuo, has highlighted the origin of VBS during the inaugural programme. She informed that VBS first started on a trial in 1952 in Kovilpatti, Tamil Nadu by South India Biblical Seminary (SIBS), Bangarapet. She shared that VBS aims to bring children to Christ, educate them the word, train them in Christian living, encourage them to be active in church life, encourage them to witness and challenge for mission.

Besides, she stated that VBS benefits the church body to build Sunday school, build the youth and revive cold hearts while awakening the body of Christ for the unreached.

The VBS also coincided with Sunday school silver jubilee celebration (1998-2023), wherein Rev. Zotuo Kiewhuo said the invocation prayer at the proclamation service and VBS inaugural service, while the jubilee song was presented by intermediate and junior students.
