Kohima Watsu Telen recreates golden melodies of yesteryears
Dimapur, August 4: The Colour Blitz introducing the golden melodies of yesteryears enthralled the people of Kohima to blissful evening last night.
Organized by the Kohima Watsu Telen (Unit) under the theme ‘Save a Life,’ the golden singing sensations of various genre took everyone back to the golden years of the 50’s 60’s and 70’s to a nostalgic memoirs.
The extravagant event saw a galaxy of singing hits of yesteryears like Dr Watila Jamir Medziphema, Temjen Peter, Noksang Pongener, Rev.Dr. Toshi Langu, Wati and the band, Nungsang Aier Dimapur, Imtienla IFS, Imli Jamir, Robert Khuvung, Toshinaro Jamir, Chuba CJ, Anungba Sanglir and also modern artists like Tiameren Aier, Imtisenla and budding music students from Margaret Shishak School of music Patkai enthralled the evening. There was something for everyone to see, to listen and to experience.The colourful and fully lighted stage came to live with the Watsu Ola comprising young women from Kohima belting out powerful Women of faith songs.
Besides being a support to the cause of the event, the State Minister of Forest and Environment Dr.Nicky Kire captured the evening show through his melodious presentation. Songs of the Rolling Stones, Shadows, Dolly Parton and originals from local artists were a commendable treat to the audience.
Endowed with an impressive stage presence by all the performers, the State Additional Development Commissioner of Planning and Coordination and Adviser Kohima Watsu Telen, Watsu Aolemla Jamir extended her gratitude to all the participants on behalf of the Kohima Watsu, and said that the Colour Blitz musical extravaganza which comes with a cause to save a life would bring an incredible change to someone’s life.
It was a moment of great pride for Kohima Watsu Telen to have brought in the best singing sensations of all times to one stage to recreate the magic of melodies from yesteryears in live performance setting. While expressing gratitude to the organizers for a grand night of songs and dinner, some of the audience expressed their desire to get to see more shows in the days to come.
