Kohima Village Sports Association Meet 2022 mascot unveiled

The core committee of Kohima Village Sports Association (KVSA) has resolved to conduct the KVSA Meet 2022. The announcement was made during the launch of KVSA Meet 2022 mascot at Kohima on Monday.

Exhorting the gathering, K Neibou Sekhose, president of Nagaland Football Association (NFA), underscored on the need to have proper planning and budgeting for the successful conduct of the sports event.

Informing that India is still way behind many countries in international football ranking, he emphasised on the need to promote players, who are keen to take part in individual sports.

Sekhose also reminded KVSA officials to organise the meet to produce players, who can take part in Olympics and other international level competitions. So that they can bring laurels to the village in particular and the state in general.

Maintaining that the pioneers have introduced KVSA sports meet with the hope of creating the feeling of oneness amongst the four khels of Kohima village, he hoped that players would take part in the meet with spirit of sportsmanship and love for another.

Helievio Solo, Chairman of Kohima village council hoped that through the games and sports, more unity, friendship, peace and understanding would be fostered among the four khels of Kohima village.

Neingusalie Khruomo, Convener of the core committee informed that the mascot for the 65th KVSA Meet 2022 is a cartoon ‘rooster’, which represents ‘confident with oneself and perfect in one’s skills’.

He said when the rooster crows in the morning, it signifies the breaking of a ‘new dawn and also symbolises a new beginning.’

It was informed that the mascot logo was conceptualised and designed by Neivotuo Keyho, Vithozo Khezhie and Kikrukhrielie Suohu.

Sedevizo Zatsu, Games and Sports Secretary of Kohima Village Youth Organization (KVYO) informed that the competition would commence between Jan. 10 to the 15th at Khuociezie local ground, State Indoor Stadium and IG Stadium next year.
