Kohima Village Junior Sports Meet: Team Samurai emerges overall champions
DIMAPUR — Team Samurai emerged overall champions of the 5th Kohima Village Junior Sports Meet by winning five gold and three silver medals.
The biennial sports meet was held at D. Khel Ground and Indoor Stadium, Seikhazou, on Monday on the theme “Nurturing the Future” with an aim to groom the next generation of sportspersons, said an update from Kohima Village Students’ Union (KVSU), which hosted the event with the support of the Kohima Village Youth Organisation.
Team Samurai defeated Team Warriors in the basketball final but lost to Team Gladiators in football. Table tennis and badminton competitions were also held at the event.
